SAFErating from user talkinrock (Variant: 903222)
An auto-updater service that seems to be used for various programs ("seems" being the key word, here). However, as far as I know of, the only piece of software that actually incorporates this service is a software package-manager called "Zero Install" (a.k.a "0Install"). On the official site of this file (meaning NanoGrid's website, not Zero Install's), the wording of the service's description makes it appear that this file is used in more pieces of software than just the one I mentioned. The catch is that I just cannot seem to find any other programs that use it, no matter how thoroughly I searched. And, in case you're wondering, the official website of the service is http://www.nano-byte.de/info/nanogrid/, if you wish to visit it for yourself... (It also happens to be in German, so Google Translate could have given me a poor translation, leading to a perception that it is used in multiple programs... However, I don't feel that's the case here: What I do, in fact, believe is that other software that uses this file just doesn't publicize the use of this service for some odd reason.)
