mdminst.dll module is used during the installation of modems into a computer. If a plug and play modem is installed into the computer, the system calls mdminst.dll to locate the correct driver for modem. The mdminst.dll file asks for the producer and model of the modem, and then searches the corresponding INF file or the SetUp Information File in the OS INF folder.
