"The AudioDG process is the home of the Windows audio engine. This is where digital signal processing happens. The process is intentionally separated from the Windows Audio service for a variety of reasons; among these is that the AudioDG process hosts all the fancy audio effects, which go by the technical name Audio Processing Objects but which are referred to in the user interface simply as Audio Enhancements."

Is the Process "audiodg.exe" Safe or Threat ?

audiodg.exe is a minor threat to battery life due to it running the CPU when no audio related activity. On my Lenovo E530, System Explorer shows it using 1-2% of CPU continuously when the laptop is idle. This keeps "flicking" the power conserving "Balanced Mode" from low CPU/GPU clock rate to high. Annoying and appears to be poor programming.

System config on latest standard but audiodg.exe is causing 100% CPU usage and causes crashes and freezes. Searched for weeks now for a solution by endusers but still did not find anything.
