If you run the C:\Program Files (x86)\GIGABYTE\GBTUpd\UpdSettingDlg.exe file you can turn the auto-updates off, or set it to update one day per week(but no less). I'll take one day of minor annoyance over daily annoyances every time.

To RalphNZ.... Yes,There is a way to switch off. Check your filefolder "C:\Program Files\GIGABYTE\GBTUpd" and run UpdSettingDlg.exe inside there. Dont accept, its not your fate.

It is part of the Gigabyte Automatic Updates program. Every time i boot the computer it pops up annoyingly and says "your version is the latest version", but it is not harmful. There may be a way to switch it off (but that probably means disabling an Automatic Update Checking function) so I guess I can live with it.
