SAFErating from user twaters for file %PROGRAMFILES%\Norton PC Checkup 3.0\symcpcculaunchsvc.exe (Variant: 12169620)
Part of Symantec Norton Internet Security 2013. Over the last few years Norton seem to have worked on reducing the resource impact and I no longer notice it even when doing a full system scan on a 3 year old desktop (Feb 2013)

SAFErating from user WW SD for file %PROGRAMFILES%\Norton PC Checkup 3.0\SymcPCCULaunchSvc.exe (Variant: 12169620)
This is a necessary file for Norton 360. It is used during the virus checking routine. Although, it is a resource hog (especially on older machines) it is NOT a threat. That said, it can be a nuisance at times.

THREATrating from user Jon for file %PROGRAMFILES%\Norton PC Checkup 3.0\SymcPCCULaunchSvc.exe (Variant: 12169620)
Symantec is knnown for taking over a machine to run their programs/software, leaving Little (or NO) room to run the machine owner's software/process(es) All in the name of "security" Its a load. Reality says they are not necessary, nor should they (or their kind) be tollerated... The whole Scam-dustry (as opposed to industry) is a threat.
