This file is part of a program from Serhiy Perevoznyk and part of the desciption on the site says the following.. "Krento is a Widget Engine. This means that it can load and display widgets (graphically rich interactive objects) on your desktop. Widgets can do anything from display the current date and time, to launching other applications or opening websites in your browser. There are some of widgets already available and the number of it is growing all the time. Unlike other Widget Engines, Krento is more oriented on functionality than on decoration." Basically, in my own words, you use this program to open / launch other programs you use often on your PC / Laptop..such as media players, browsers, email clients..in fact, those programs you use the most. The benefit of using such a program is you get to unclutter your desktop of the icons you would usually need to click on to open the programs in question..and in doing so free up desktop space, while enhancing the over-all look of the same at the same time. I have Krento installed and running on my XP SP3 laptop system now for some time and am very happy with it. I have never had any issues whatsoever, either caused by it or in relation to it..not even one "false positive" return while scanning regularly with a number of anti-spyware / malware programs that I also have installed on my system. These include "Spybot S&D", "Online Armor AntiVirus and Firewall", "SUPERAntiSpyware Pro", "WinPatrol Pro" to name but a few. I should point out I am no PC security expert..just an ordinary guy who takes the issue of PC security seriously and tries to keep up with what is currently the best programs out there in this area. With that said, I do know there are both genuine and dubious programs out there which can either return a "false positive" or scream "infection" at you and knowing which is which can be a bit difficult at times.
