SAFErating from user DiggerP for file C:\Windows\System32\DRIVERS\avipbb.sys (Variant: 2802)
This file is safe if it's from Avira ,in the system32\Drivers folder and has the correct file checksums. It says above: "100% of reviewed files are marked as Threat. Our final rating for this file is Threat." What kind of nonsense is this to mark this file as 100% Threat? This kind of reporting doesn't inspire much confidence. My own report from VirusTotal says this: "File already submitted: The file sent has already been analysed by VirusTotal in the past. This is same basic info regarding the sample itself and its last analysis: MD5: 452e382340bb0c5e694ed9d3625356d0 Date first seen: 2009-04-28 18:50:25 (UTC) Date last seen: 2011-10-24 22:05:08 (UTC) Detection ratio: 0/42" Any problem reading this? There is ZERO detection out of 42 AV programs. What the H more do you want?

After suffering a BSOD for no particular reason, I found a log in my Event Viewer stating that this file was the culprit, there is an active thread on the Avira forums about this.... Using: Windows XP SP3 1.6GHz Celeron 1GB RAM 64MB VGA
