System Explorer performance - XP vs Win7
  • I am running SE (latest version) on both Win XP SP3 and Win7 SP1 machines. Is there any reason why under Win 7 SE takes far more resources (45% CPU) than under XP? It is also noticeably more sluggish - to start or to react to requests (clicks) than on XP. By the way, the Win7 machine has dual-core processor with 2MB ram (cf. 1MB of the XP machine), so on paper it is the more powerful of the two machines.

  • There is no reason for it. Please enable logs and send it to our email... Please follow: http://systemexplorer.net/onlinehelp.php?t=troubleshooting
  • OK, have sent an email to admin@systemexplorer.net with attachment of the .log

The only additional info I should add is that on both machines (XP, Win7) I run the portable version of SE 3.7.0. (The issue has been around since before the latest update.)
  • Ok I sent you email with info which steps you could try.. It seems that it's some issue with system performance timers.
