    SwUSB.exe was set to run via a system service called RunSwUSB which had no description. It starts via C:WindowsruNSW.exe and writes log to runSW.log. I had a 69 MB log growing constantly. It showed the program was being run every couple of seconds. I noticed this initially because Windows was showing the "loading" mouse icon every couple of seconds.
    At each run the log showed lines like this:
    (14:22:04) -> Process0 - Start program 'C:WindowsSwUSB.exe'OK (14:22:04) -> High Integrity Process (14:22:04) -> Service Control=0x0001 EventType=0x0000 (14:22:04) -> 0x0005[SERVICE_CONTROL_STOP] (14:22:04) -> 0x0005[SERVICE_CONTROL_SHUTDOWN] (14:22:04) -> StartProcess4 (14:22:04) -> RUN SYSTEM ActiveConsoleSessionId = 0x0005 (14:22:04) -> HIGH_PRIORITY (14:22:04) -> CreateProcessAsSYSTEM bResult: 1 The log began like this: [2016/06/24](08:08:00)Run Realtek Service Application By Karl (08:08:00) -> OpenService failed, error code = 0x424 The specified service does not exist as an installed service. (08:08:00) -> Service RunSwUSB installed (08:08:00) -> RunSwUSB (08:08:00) -> ControlService failed, error code = 0x426 (08:08:00) -> RunSwUSB (08:08:00) -> ServiceName = RunSwUSB (08:08:00) -> ActiveConsoleSessionId = 0x0001 (08:08:00) -> StartProcess1 (08:08:00) -> RUN SYSTEM ActiveConsoleSessionId = 0x0001 (08:08:00) -> HIGH_PRIORITY (08:08:00) -> CreateProcessAsSYSTEM bResult: 1 I believe the file might not be harmful but even so it was disturbing my work. I disabled the service and renamed the exe files to .old.
