  • THREATrating from user umeweall for file %PROGRAMFILES%\Google\Update\1.3.21.153\psmachine.dll (Variant: 20160442)

I had Kaspersky Internet Suite running a rootkit scan. It found the psmachine.ddl file and labeled it as imminently dangerous, as a threat to the system, as a rootkit. It requested to do a 'system cleaning' process, and took about 20 minutes examining the system, which ended in a reboot. When it came back up, the threat requested me to tell Kaspersky to delete the threat. The threat indicator then turned green, showing the system was o.k. From the date of the file, this was recently updated, on July 27, this morning, I presume thru the automatic Google update process. What was with this file, are others seeing this as a 'threat' on their system. I might add that Kaspersky caught this as a threat, but Webroot SecureAnywhere did not trip an alarm.
