File Description: The file pnrpnsp.dll is part of the PNRP Name Space Provider. Microsoft patented their proprietary peer-to-peer protocol with Peer Name Resolution Protocol (PNRP). The PNRP enables dynamic name publication and resolution, and requires Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). The PNRP was included in the Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. The pnrpnsp.dll file works within the PNRP to allow Internet hosts to publish peer names and the corresponding Internet Protocol address. The pnrpnsp.dll file provides the peer names with complementing IP addresses. Other Internet hosts can then determine the name, retrieve the corresponding address, and establish peer-to-peer connections.
