The Performance Data Helper (PDH) makes life a lot easier for users and programmers who want to acquire performance information and monitor the capabilities of Windows NT. The module pdh.dll contains all the functions that any programmer can rely on in terms of generating performance data structures without the need to write lots of codes to get performance information. The Windows NT was designed to have its own performance-monitoring capabilities. Native performance data can be acquired by wading though performance data structures that require codes to be written by the programmer. When the PDH library was introduced sought to enhance the performance-monitoring capabilities of Windows NT by simplifying functions to acquire performance information. The module pdh.dll contains program codes that can be used for the creation of log files and other measurement methods.
