    Well, probably it's safe.
So, I Stopped and Disabled the service they installed and rebooted my computer. Pretty sure that freemakeerrorreporter.exe did NOT run after I rebooted. If it comes back, I'll let you know.
Then, I converted an audio file. With the sillyservice disabled. And I didn't see freemakeerrorreporter.exe wake up. Only thing that was funny was that after I closed the conversion window, the program (task) took an extra 20 seconds to actually close. I don't know if it was cleaning up anything or engaging in some more subversive communications.

    Maybe it's safe.
I installed freemake's audio converter. During the installation, I avoided the 3rd-party sneakwear (toolbars, etc).
Since then, freemakeerrorreporter.exe runs and exits every time I boot up the computer. This has nothing to do with converting audio files. It's akin to spyware, phoning home with my IP address. So, freemaker gets to know every time my computer boots up. What are they going to do with that information? Probe my ports?
And, they installed "FreeMake Improver Service," which I just stopped and disabled.
Why does an audio converter, which I might not use again for another few years, need to add to my computer's startup routine and long list of services?
I did not find that freemakeerrorreporter or the sillyservice used much resources, at least while they were idle. And they do not hide the freemake name, so they're not really trying to hide, different than real spyware would act.
In my limited, amateur experience, the most I can be sure they're guilty of is "bloat."
