Save but a absolutely useless tool if you don't have an iPod or iPhone. It is forcibly installed by iTunes.
Notes:
1) Don't remove this programs otherwise iTunes will not run nor update itself! But...
You can stop the following services if you don't have a iPod and iTunes will still run fine!
Start "Services.msc" and make sure the property's of the following services are set to: Disabled. - Attention: The service-names vary by version and sometimes even language!! - * "Apple Mobile Device" also called "Apple Mobile Device Service", the Dutch version is called: "Mobiel Apple apparaat".
* "Bonjour service" also called "Bonjour-service". * "iPod Service" also called "iPod-Service".
2) You also need to stop some of these tools from automatic starting with Window by removing them from the registry run-key below.
* "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun]" value "iTunesHelper". This "iTunesHelper" value also seems to exist in: "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun]" and it should contain the path to iTunesHelper.exe in Program Files (x86). -
