    This file is the main executable for the Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager. It appears to be an update/download manager for Adobe Reader - in fact Adobe ARM is the Adobe update manager, not only for Adobe Reader, but also other products like Flash Player - and launches at windows startup via the registry entry, which can be removed if user doesn't want this app to be running.
